“ Tatiana Zaits is a Russian born artist and scientist. She finished her P.H.D in Molecular Biology in Russia, and was invited to do research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. Tatiana has two passions in life: science and art. In her mind they have a lot in common: both require talent, diligence and dedication and unique vision. Both pay back with joy of discovery.
For a long time, Tatiana Zaits managed to balance both passions in her life. But with the time art became more demanding and more important. When in 1999 Tatiana had left science to become a full time artist, she found a complete harmony within herself. But science still lives with her. She brings a lot of analysis and study into her work: experimenting with geometrical forms and volumes, calculating and balancing dynamic forces within her compositions.
Tatiana is a figurative painter who incorporates elements of abstraction. She is fascinated by mosaic psychology of humankind. People are continuous puzzles for her with many faces that she tries to capture. Her characters are often strange and quirky with elongated bodies, dancing to their own rhythm. Their individuality is mesmerizing.”

“Tatiana Zaits was raised in a rich culture of Moscow in the family of a well known graphic designer, Eugene Volkov. Her father worked for the large Moscow publishers: “Russian Theater”, “Ballet” “Music”. The family went to see theatrical performances or to listen to the symphony and opera sometimes three – four times a week. This intense childhood exposure to the arts developed her life long passion for music, and various theatrical genres. Zaits paints musicians, singers and dancers, people living on stage. She paints scenes from plays and fairy tails. Her work incorporates elements of geometrical design and abstraction. She uses mixed media approaches based on bright red tones.”
